TV mounting prices look random online because the jobs are not the same. Here is what actually moves the number.
What drives the price
- Screen size. Bigger and heavier TVs need heavier mounts and sometimes two people.
- Wall type. A drywall wall over wood studs is quick; brick, stone, tile or concrete takes masonry work and more time.
- Wire concealment. Hiding the cables in the wall adds labor beyond a bare mount.
- Over a fireplace. Masonry drilling, a heat check and often a pull-down mount make it more than a flat-wall job.
- The mount. Flat is cheapest, full-motion costs more. See mount types.
