Why over-fireplace is its own job
A fireplace wall is masonry and it runs warm, so it is not a normal mount. We heat-check the mantel, drill and anchor into the stone, tile or brick correctly, and set the viewing angle so you are not craning your neck. Where the mantel gets hot or the TV sits high, a pull-down mount brings the screen down to eye level to watch.

Over-fireplace questions
Is a TV over the fireplace too high to watch?
It can be, which is why we use a tilt or a pull-down mount. A pull-down brings the screen down and forward to eye level when you watch, then tucks it back up when you are done.
Can you hide the wires over a fireplace?
Usually. On a wall we can fish the cables to a recessed outlet; on solid masonry we run a clean paintable raceway. We tell you which applies before we start.
Will the heat damage my TV?
We check the mantel temperature and the clearance. If it runs hot, we recommend a pull-down mount so the TV sits away from the heat when it is up.
